YELLOWSTONE CANYON

A landscape film, in the same realm as Canyon and Bowman Lake. A long real-time shot of the Canyon of the Yellowstone River, in Wyoming. Painted by Thomas Moran and then others, this site is one of the many iconic images which represent the splendors of the American West. It ends with a sardonic coda. Living at times in Butte Montana, I decided to add it to my sequence of landscape works (including several shorter films, Stand, Swanton Road and Berkeley Pit).
